Topshop- Please Don’t forget Brisbane!

If there was any store I have missed the most since I moved from Ireland it would have to be Topshop- I definitely scarified eating in university on many occasions to buy their latest looks.

So you can understand my excitement when they announced they were coming to Oz. They opened their flagship store in Melbourne on the 8th December and Sydney is set to follow in August 2012. There have been rumours that they might be looking at our lovely City of Brisbane too. The new Wintergarden in Queen Street mall is the rumoured site and so I hope there is truth in this.

As much as I love the little boutique stores that sprinkle the corners of Brisbane – We need a Topshop! No other store embraces on trend looks like they do.

The Dress below is one of my favourite TOPSHOP pieces. It can be worn in so many ways – At the office with black tights or bare those legs for a sexier look.

The looks below are my favourite from the fall 2012 collection. Design manager Emma Farrow commented that "The concept was trying to reinvent the uniform with a good mix of masculine and feminine," The pieces are amazing and without a doubt achieve their purposed vision
I will be definitely investing in some pieces .

FairyTale Trend

How exciting is the new Fairytale trend that is emerging . With so many countries in financial distress it seems only fitting that we escape in to another world and it seems the Designers could not agree more - We are seeing this trend paraded on the runways at Viktor & Rolf, Louis Vuitton, and Alexander McQueen

The look below from Louis Vuitton is amazing – It does help that it is being showcased by Kate Moss. However for this trend my heart belongs to Oscar de la Renta !!! These are some of my favorite images from the spring 2012 collection and there is only word to sum them up – Breathtaking .
He has managed to encapsulate every emotion that we , from such a young age, have attached to our fantasies of a fairy tale world

So please fairytale creatures come and get me , I want to be a princess

Today’s Inspiration

I am so in love with the Chanel Dress below. It brings images of ice queens and butterflies to my mind- the perfect distraction in my working day.

This was the first piece shown in Versailles yesterday, where Karl Lagerfeld showed his latest collection for the fashion house - pre-spring/summer 2013. It was modeled by Cara Delevingne. The whole collection was beautiful and seems to be inspired by century of Enlightenment- very Marie Antoinette esque

Today my Camilla and Marc dress definitely brightened my day. It was only in clearing out my closet that I discovered this gem again.
It was my very first buy from any Australian designer and I love it .

Colour your office

Office clothes have become so boring and predictable! It is not bad enough that the majority of us have to spend nine to five stuck to a desk without looking like a gray shadow of your self

It is time to brighten your office wardrobe. This didn't mean going crazy with a multitude of colours that will cause your boss's eyes to pop. Just by adding a colored top to your work grey pants can lift your entire mood. Don't go over broad , my rule is only one hero colour per outfit !!

So brighten up your office wardrobe and make that nine to five a little sunnier

Accessories at the beach

So everytime you go to the beach you want to look super cute like all the magazines. We are surrounded by all these images of bronzed beauties dripping in beads and bangles !! My question is are these people actually dressed for the beach!!! I really could not be bothered having to remove my whole look everytime I want to go for a swim or apply sunscreen!!

My tip - keep it simple girls. On my last trip to the beach I matched my plain black bikini top with a great bottoms- can not resist a little leopard!! With my straw hat and ray bans was good to go!!!

So don 't over complicate the beach, just relax and enjoy the sun!!

Cowboy/girl Style

I am in love with the thought of a cowboy/girl style revival. Don’t get me wrong I am not talking full on stirrups and braces but an ode to the little stables that set the style apart. What I am obsessing about is the bootlace tie / Bolo tie

I am particularly in love with the thought of a white Singlet with one of these fab ties below It adds such a cool edge.

So your next question would be where on earth I get these from! My lovely friend Chloe diligently searched through all that eBay had to offer and found a beautiful one with the most amazing turquoise stone. It was such an original find and really made her outfit stand out of the crowd. You could search your local op shops but for me eBay is the way to go, and there is always the chance of that elusive 99cent find
